About Stories by Ola

Hello! This is me, Ola, behind Stories by Ola. I am a ceramist and mixed media artist working from my Kitchen Studio in Ardgillan Castle, Ireland. I started working with clay in 2016 out of pure interest and it turned out to be my passion. I recently graduated from the Coláiste Dhúlaigh Craft Course which gave me the opportunity to try different art forms and develop my skills even further. For the last 15 years I’ve been living on the beautiful Irish coastline, which changed my blood into salt water. All of my pieces are telling a story of the seaside, with its colours, textures and shapes. Every little detail on the items in my shop is carefully designed and handcrafted and all of them are unique, meaning any two will never be identical.

I am so pleased with my framed yellow ‘underwater bubbles’ from Ola! They brighten up the room, make me smile, and even came wrapped beautifully – hand-delivered to my door ❤️ #supportlocal

22 October 2020Ola draws an inspiration from a landscape and nature around her and very skillfully translates it into her “stories”. I particularly love the ones with floral impressions. And I’m chuffed with my first one from Ola 😊 it’s a meadow’s touch. A glazed beauty.

20 December 2020Myself and my mother recently did a pottery workshop with Ola. Absolutely loved every minute of it, Olas really helpful and we learnt so much. She really let us take our time, do our own thing and get creative. Can’t wait to return in a couple of weeks to glaze out pieces!

I did 2 pottery sessions with Ola & was totally bitten by the pottery bug. Ola is really knowledgeable, let’s you get creative and then she guides you through and her pottery is beautiful. Ola is relaxed and easy going but really knows her stuff. she makes pottery feel accessible and un-intimidating, for a complete novice I loved what I made, plates & dishes that I actually use! I 100% recommend the handbuilding sessions and her own creations are gorgeous.
