Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our products and services.
Is your pottery dishwasher and microwave safe?
Most of it, yes – my pieces are both beautiful and practical, but to be 100% sure, please check the product description, where I always include this info. Even when safe to use in the dishwasher and microwave, handmade ceramics will always appreciate a little extra care.
How long will it take for my order to ship?
Most orders are shipped within 2 working days. If your item is on back order, it may take up to two weeks to make, plus additional time for delivery. For made-to-order pieces, I’ll confirm production time and shipping individually. Everything is carefully packed using reused materials from my local community.
Do you run pottery workshops?
I do! From time to time, I offer small, relaxed workshops in my studio. They include two separate sessions – one for making, one for glazing – scheduled with you. A minimum of two people per booking is required. You can read more and book here [link].
Can the workshop sessions happen two days in a row?
Unfortunately not – clay needs time to dry completely before the first firing (called bisque). That process takes a few days, so the second session always takes place at least a week later.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Absolutely. If you’d rather let someone choose for themselves, a gift voucher is a perfect option. Delivered instantly by email – a thoughtful last-minute gift.
What do you mean by ‘perfectly imperfect’?
I believe in beauty that’s soulful and slightly wonky. Each piece is shaped by hand, slowly and intentionally, and no two are ever the same. That little wobble? That’s the story.
How long will I wait for items on backorder?
It typically takes up to two weeks to create your backordered items, plus shipping time. I’ll keep you updated every step of the way!
Do you take commissions for weddings or special occasions?
Yes, occasionally. I love creating thoughtful, small-batch pieces for meaningful moments – like gifts for your bridal party or handmade tableware for an intimate celebration. If you have something special in mind, let’s talk. Just remember: ceramics take time, so it’s best to get in touch early.
Are your earrings hypoallergenic?
Yes – I use only sterling silver fixings, and some are gold-plated. No nickel, ever.
Can I collect my order in person?
Yes – by appointment only. My studio is located at Ardgillan Castle, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. If you’d like to collect your piece in person, just reach out. Please select the “collection/local delivery” option when ordering.
Can broken ceramics be repaired?
Sadly, once fired, ceramics can’t be repaired in a way that’s fully waterproof, food-safe or invisible. That said, broken pieces can be glued (I recommend two-part resin or UV resin) and repurposed creatively – I’ve seen them used in mosaics, pencil holders, or just as beautiful, imperfect objects.
Do you offer gift wrapping or personal messages?
Yes – just leave a note with your order and I’ll wrap it with care. I’m also happy to include a handwritten card with your message.
I saw a piece I loved at a market, but I can’t find it online. Can I still buy it?
Feel free to send me a photo or a description! Some pieces are one-of-a-kind or seasonal, but I might have something similar, or I can let you know if it’s coming back.
Where can I buy your work?
You can purchase directly via my website, visit me at my studio in Ardgillan Castle (just know on the door), or shop in one of the lovely independent stockists across Ireland. Check the [Stockists] page to see where.
What are the shipping options?
For deliveries within Ireland, I use AnPost flat rate shipping at €6.50 (free for orders over €100) with tracking. For earrings, there’s a special category: untracked shipping is €2.95, or tracked shipping for €6.50.
If you’re looking for international shipping, the cost will depend on the dimensions and weight of your package, so please get in touch for a personalised quote. I use either FedEx or AnPost for international deliveries.
