This unique ceramic bowl was shaped by hand in my studio at Ardgillan Castle, using speckled stoneware clay and finished with a soft blend of pastel blue and green glazes. Its organic, rounded form is inspired by smooth beach pebbles – the kind you pocket on seaside walks without even realising.
The glaze flows gently across the surface like water at low tide, catching the light in delicate layers. The soft speckles in the clay peek through, adding quiet texture and a grounding, natural feel.
It’s the kind of piece that doesn’t shout for attention, but always draws the eye. Perfect as a small serving bowl, a place to gather your bits and pieces, or simply a thoughtful handmade detail in your home.
