    Each of these ceramic shells began as a real great scallop, found on a local Irish beach. I created a plaster mould from that very shell, then pressed each piece by hand using speckled stoneware clay. The surface captures every tiny groove and ripple, preserving the natural texture, like holding a piece of the coastline in your hand.
